I for one fervently support the traffic police in Saigon. Well, as long as they do not pull me over for, say, not having a valid motorbike license, or, hmm, speeding…

I was just pulled over once. Paid a 40,000 VND fine for riding in the left lane.

They accidentally pulled me over. They thought I was Viet Kieu. When they saw me they were embarrassed, laughed at me, gave me a paper to sign and I left. I was told by a friend that I could have just left without paying.
