3 Year Lease ends in 3 months

Submitted by on Thursday, October 2, 2008 – 9:32 am3 Comments |

My 3 year lease ends in 3 months.  My landlord says I can break my lease now with no penalty if I find a house before then.  It will probably cost me $100 US to get the house clean and repair my cat’s damage (he found one really nice scratch post that will need to be repainted).

I will be more selective with my roommates in the next house since it will also be my office.  Two have expressed interest so far.  I hope the house in District 4 is still available in the next month or two.  It was really nice but an issue about security is coming up in that area.

I do prefer to stay in the Phu Nhuan area, if possible.  I do not want a big house though.  I know where all the good restaurants are located here now icon smile 3 Year Lease ends in 3 months

@Anh Hung: Along the canal in the alleyway. This area is supposed to be safe.

@Chip: I have been in Vietnam over 4 and a half years :-)

You've been in VN for 3 yearsssssss? almost enough for you to think as a Vietnamese :D G'luck with your new apartment.

As someone who'd lived in District 4 for more than 10 years, I would say it depends very much on where you live when it comes to security. It used to be a notorious district. However, I never had an issue before since I live right at the front street. Where's the location?
