Changing Political Environment?

Posted in Vietnam, Vietnam Politics on Nov 18, 2008

Here is something I probably would not have blogged about a couple years ago.  The National Assembly decided to shelve direct elections of People’s Committees at the commune level.  I was surprised to see Thanh Nien News publish this story today but they did.

Though the plan was shelved, it seems that the National Assembly will take a closer look at it in the near future.  Times are changing in Vietnam, things are improving, the country is developing very fast.

No, I am not ready to say the “D” word yet :-)
