15th Lunar January Month in Saigon

Submitted by on Sunday, February 15, 2009 – 10:46 am4 Comments |

Last weekend was a very important time for Vietnamese Buddhists.  Normally on the 14th, 15th and/or 16th Lunar January, Vietnamese worshippers go to the pagodas to offer prayers for good luck for the new lunar year.  I took some pictures from a visit to a pagoda in the Phu Nhuan District last weekend.

I like pagodas though I am not Buddhist. I like the people there as well.

Are you going there just for fun, Kevin?
I used to go to the pagodas just for fun and for the vegetarian food (well, more like for the food) when I were in Viet Nam lol.

Thanks Clarious, made the changes.

Hmm, the second last picture isn't really a Buddha statue If I am not wrong (the third) is. He is Di Lac (Di L?c), someone who alway (can't find a better word) grinning.
