I avoid coffee on the streets. They use some chemical to get that taste. Not safe to drink. I need to be sure they brewed the coffee.

I am not a coffee drinker anymore so I look for the best places for tea :-)

I'm going to have to start looking properly as I really haven't found many myself. The ones I've frequented so far have been beautiful & quiet but with poor coffee & service, or they provide a better standard but at western prices.
My best coffee so far has been served by the lady who stands under an umbrella next to VAS in Ba Thang Hai.

You make a good point, I should make a criteria for Best Saigon Coffee Shop in my blog. Normally for me, the coffee has to be good, coffees shop must be quiet so I can have a conversation, and yeah, it kind of has to remind me of a Seattle coffee house.

I know the type of coffee shop you like. There are many but I just do not have the time to visit them. The last year I chose places for meetings.

Kevin, I think your definition of "best" could be modified slightly. Perhaps, "most Western" or "most expensive"? I haven't looked at all your posts on coffee, but the few I can see appear to be elite, too shiny, and soulless. That's great for some, but I am looking for something more real, more Saigon. Particularly in Districts 5 and 10. Got any recommendations?
Oh, and I like shops that only sell cafe sua whatever, and beer. None of that fancy stuff for me, thanks.
