I visited a really nice coffee shop over a week ago called Coffee World, aka Cream and Fudge. It is definitely a visit especially if you like waffles, yes I said waffles. Unfortunately my current diet does not allow me to eat waffles at this time but hopefully next year I can.

Instead, I ordered a green tea latte which was very good. Yeah, I kept drooling over the waffles and ice cream. Do me a favor and have a couple waffles for me

This is one of the nicest coffee establishments I have visited in Saigon. Addresses after the photos.

Rose Cafe – Saigon

Last Friday I met Le Viet-Kieu Saigonais at Rose Cafe located at the Ky Hoa Garden Hotel in District 10. It is a really pleasant place to meet friends and have nice discussions. It is fairly popular with the local Vietnamese but I do not see many Expats visiting this coffee shop while I was there.

You will like the nice pools, waterfall and fountain there. It helps make this coffee shop a very relaxing place to stay. I just got a few pictures the last time I visited. I will try to get more on my next visit.

MOF- A nice Japanese style teashop in Saigon

Thanks to both Lawrence and Hiro, I now know there is a Japanese-style teashop in Saigon call MOF. MOF is owned by a Singaporean from what I was told. The cafe itself is nice an quiet.

MOF serves a large assortment of Japanese green tea including my favorite, genmaicha. If you are hungry, get yourself a nice reasonably priced bento box. MOF even offers desserts though on this particular day, I just settled for tea which was very good. I am a fan of green tea.

MOF is located on 30 Le Loi Blvd in District 1 of Saigon. There is motorbike parking available.

Got a picture of the newest Coffee Bean coffee shop in Saigon. It is located in the Metropolitan Building where HSBC had their original office. Oddly enough, HCBC has moved to where Highlands Coffee used to be located.

Du Mien Coffee Shop (Videos)

This morning I met a friend at the Du Mien Coffee Shop near my house today. I remember over a year ago, I complained it was too loud at Du Mien. Not anymore. I have had several meetings there in the last couple of months. The atmosphere has become quieter. The staff have turned down the music. I praise the owner for making these changes. Most of his coffee shops, he has about three that I know of in this part of Saigon, are quiet now.

Today I decided to take some video shots of Du Mien with my G1 phone. Yeah, they are a bit short but in the future I want to make longer video recordings of the places I visit for this blog.

A great place to watch a movie? – Zenta Cafe

Zenta Cafe is one of my favorite coffeeshops. I normally there for one hour meetings so I never really get to visit the Men’s Room. Well, last week I did and this is what I saw:

You know, on paper this may have been a good idea. Unfortunately, when you are, umm, doing your thing, the TV screen is actually too close to your face. All of the urinals have these TV screens that are too close to you.

Saigon Coi Rieng Coffee shop

Finally I able to get a picture of one of the best coffee shops in Saigon. I spent most of the day at Coi Rieng coffee shop located in the Tan Binh District not far from my house. It is actually a comfortable place to spend the day. Too food is not bad and the coffee quite good. I ended up eating a small breakfast and light lunch there.

The music is not too loud so you can have a casual conversation without having to scream at your friends. WiFi is available as well.

There were several Expats there as well but normally mostly Vietnamese visit Coi Rieng.

Cafe May – Saigon Best Coffee Shop

I visited another good coffee shop today, Cafe May. Surprisingly, it is near my house.

If you like a decor with a fushion of Vietnamese and French interior designing, come to Cafe May. It was quite pleasant and relaxing. I had a cafe sua da which was pretty good. My only complaint was that it was too cold. The air conditioner was blowing the cold air right at me

Best Saigon Coffee shop

Last night I went to probably the best coffee shop in Saigon at the moment. Unfortunately I forgot the name of the place. I vaguely remember the area but it was located next to the train tracks in the Phu Nhuan District. It will probably be one of Saigon’s best kept secrets for awhile.

I will tease you with a couple photos. They service was great, it was just a very pleasant place to relax at with nice pools and gardens. The noise of people talking were drowned out by the garden. I can see this place to be very relaxing and cool during a hot day as well.

I will try to get the name and address next time I visit, that is if I remember where it is at

Christmas Eve at Pinky Ice Cream

Last night I stopped by Pinky Ice Cream on 20Bis Troung Dinh in District 3. I have been wanting to stop at this place many times since I see it everyday. To my surprise, it is actually a good place for ice cream. I ordered the ice cream cake which was very good and comparable to what you can get at Bud’s Ice Cream. It is even as good as Dream Cones.

My only disappointment was the Coke Cola Float. For one, they did not use real Coke and two, the cola used was, umm, warm. Hence the Coke Cola Float was just melted ice cream in a cola.

The decor was a bit disappointing as well. Not very pleasant to doable. It was too yellow for my tastes. Still, the ice cream made up for it. I will go back in the future just to have this little treat
