Linux and Open Source recently started to gain ground in Vietnam. Five years ago, it was difficult to find any Linux users here in Saigon. Now, I think the number is approaching around one thousand for the whole country. Linux servers are more commonly used, in particular, CentOS. Ubuntu tends to be the most popular Linux distro here with Arch Linux, OpenSUSE and Slackware some of the leading favorites. There now exists 3 Linux User Groups in Hanoi and Saigon with an emerging community in Danang.
