Handgun in Saigon

Yeah, I saw my first handgun up close in Saigon last week.  It is a 45 mm German-made pistol.  Not very well taken care of but the handgun is safe and sound with the owner again…

      In Vietnam, only the police and military can carry guns. I saw this very briefly…

    Ah, I see what you mean now. Thought somehow, a private individual was allowed to have that gun. Or had it illegally.

    That gun looks like it’s in bad shape. I wonder if it would actually fire. What I am even more curious about is the penalty for being found in possession of a firearm.I reckon that it’s illegal for any civilian to own a firearm in Vietnam.

      I would never carry a firearm in Vietnam. It is illegal, not sure what the penalties are.
