This is an article long time in the making. I have spent over a year watching Tam, a friend and fellow University of Washington grad, plan and set up Vietcetera as both a coffee shop and AirBNB hotel. With his partners, he currently runs Vietcetera in three Saigon locations. With his background in Nielsen in marketing, Tam did a great job in establishing Vietcetera Cafe.
Vietcetera takes a minimal approach to it cafe and AirBNB hotel rooms. For me, it makes it more of relaxing place to hang out for coffee. I get a good Seattle-like coffee shop vibe with a modern Saigon decor that many coffee shops are adopting now. The vietcetera.com website can give you an idea the direction Vietcetera Cafe wants to take by catering both to local Vietnamese and Expatriate coffee goers. Unlike many of the new coffee shops, Vietcetera is very quiet for casual meetings.
When I drop by, I always get a Mocha cafe or just black Americano. So far I have visited the Nguyen Thi Minh Khai location and the kiosk on Nguyen Trai.
Below are some of the photos I took of Vietcetera. Vietcetera provided the drinks and Ly Tu Trong location photos.
Vietcetera Cafe – Nguyen Thi Minh Khai
Vietcetera Cafe, located at 290 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, District 3, is the first Vietcetera. This is also where the AirBNB hotel rooms are located (sorry forgot to get pictures of the hotel rooms).
Below are some of the drinks provided by Vietcetera. All of the drinks come with purified water in a reusable glass bottle. If you have any drinks requests, ask Tam.
Vietcetera Cafe – Ly Tu Trong
Vietcetera’s second cafe is located in District 1 at Level 1, 77 Ly Tu Trong. I have not visited this coffee shop yet.
Vietcetera Kiosk – Nguyen Trai Street
I visited the Vietcetera Kiosk with Tam a couple weeks ago. This is where I had my Americano. The kiosk is located at 28 Nguyen Trai in District 1. I suspect there to be more kiosks in the future.
More information for Vietcetera can be found on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pg/vietceteracafe/locations/.
Definitely make a visit. Be sure to tell the staff that SaigonNezumi sent you. 🙂
